This side event will begin with a series of expert insights on what maritime perspectives in policy discussions and implementation could bring to enhance the effectiveness of the Arms Trade Treaty. This will be followed by an interactive discussion to explore:
• What maritime-related topics would you be most interest to include in upcoming ATT policy discussions, including the ATT Working Groups and future ATT strategy?
• Which maritime actors are – or should be – involved in implementing the ATT?
• How could integrating maritime dimensions into the work of the ATT contribute to treaty universalization efforts?
• How can maritime dimensions be incorporated into international cooperation and assistance efforts in order to strengthen the effective implementation of the ATT?
